menu Pierce Brosnan as James Bond
Some say that Sean Connery is the ultimate Bond (he is for my grandparents generation), but his wooden style of acting and silly jokes are off putting. I don’t care if he is Scottish and keeps the same accent in every film he is in, Nobody Does it Better than Pierce.

Pierce had it just right. The jokes weren’t too silly and the innuendo never overdone. Pierce: Shaken but not stirred.

The newest James Bond, Daniel Craig, played the part like a poor man’s Indiana Jones. Too much punching and impossible action,  but without the debonair suaveness of Pierce,  the dry humour of Sean, or even the raised eyebrow of Roger Moore.

The James Bond series should definitely have ended with Pierce.

We miss you Pierce!

Pierce Brosnan Fact File:

Born in Navan, County Meath, Ireland and lived in Navan, County Meath until he moved to England, UK at an early age (thus explaining his ability to play men from both backgrounds convincingly). His father left the household when Pierce was a child and although reunited later in life, the two have never had a close relationship. His most popular role is that of British secret agent James Bond. The death, in 1991, of Cassandra Harris, his wife of eleven years, left him with three children - Christopher and Charlotte from Cassandra's first marriage and Sean from their marriage. Since her death, he has had two children with his second wife.
